When a campus needs both units
A campus that generates behind the meter and also takes utility power carries two transformer roles: a GSU stepping generation up, and an interconnect LPT stepping the grid corridor down to campus MV. The two roles share a yard but they do not share a spec. LV voltage, vector group, impedance, and duty cycle all differ.
Buying them as a coordinated package keeps the yard studies aligned. BIL coordination, protection schemes, and the fault study see both tanks at once, which avoids the common failure where each unit is individually correct and the yard as a whole is not.
One RFQ or two
Submit one quotation with equipment class set to both when a single desk should manage the pair, or two linked quotations when purchase orders will split across entities or schedules. Either way, the %Z values, vector groups, and BIL choices must come from the same study revision. Note the study revision on the RFQ so bids stay comparable.
Evidence and delivery per serial
Each tank closes its own FAT, its own haul plan, and its own verified receive. A package price does not merge the evidence trail. Impact recorders, nameplate photos, and serial registry entries stay per unit, and the working-capital review, when flagged, tracks deposits and progress events against each serial separately.
